Alan Iezman was born in California and raised in the Los Angeles area. He received his B.A. in Communications/Film from
California State University at Fullerton. His first job in the entertainment industry was working as a production assistant
for world renowned director Robert Altman, on a film called California Split
starring Elliot Gould and George Segal. After working as a 2nd asst. director on another feature entitled The First Nudie Musical (1976), starring Cindy Williams, Iezman opted
to pursue the agency business and was hired into the mailroom at the legendary William Morris Agency in August 1975. After
becoming an agent in the TV talent department, he was upped to department head after just 2 years. Iezman later jumped
to the motion picture talent department and became head of that department as well. Iezman represented and launched
the careers of many industry icons, including multiple Oscar winner Tom Hanks (successfully helping to move him into motion
picures from television), Oscar winner Robin Williams (launching him with MORK AND MINDY) and many others including Oscar
winners Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Keaton, Penny Marshall and John Stamos. He worked along side industry legends Sue Mengers
and Ed Limato while agenting at Willliam Morris Iezman left the agency business in February, 1993,
opting to start his own business in the form of the production/management partnership, Grossbart/Barnett/Iezman Entertainment.
In 1995, Iezman left to start Shelter Entertainment Group, a management/production company which currently represents actors,
actresses, some directors and writers, and is active in the development of television and motion pictures. He is owner and
president and enjoys a reputation for launching major star careers, and turning around careers that have not remained optimal. In
addition to a passion for ice hockey, which he played for 25 years, Iezman is also an artist whose work has been sold over
the past 25 years.
Alan resides in Beverly Hills, California with his wife and daughter.
